“Our victim is Kyle Reynolds, 32. Cause of death was a single gunshot wound to the head at point-blank range. I extracted the bullet – .38 callibre.” She presents a glass phial containing the misshapen round to Detective Murdoch.
He accepted the phial without looking at it. “Dr. Grace, did the victim have cirrhosis of the liver, by chance?”

He frowned. “A suspect speculated on it.”
“Well, they must be a very observant person.”

“Doctor Grace,” Murdoch called out on his second visit to the morgue that day. “What have you?”
“Bryson Mitchell was killed by a bullet wound to the heart – left ventricle.”
“Have you retrieved–“
She handed over another phial. “.38 calibre. Same as the first murder.”
